Frequently Asked Questions

The louvres of my Vertical blinds won’t rotate. Have I done something wrong?

This is easily resolved as this sometimes happens if the louvres were originally hung onto the headrail whilst the hooks were in the closed position.

Steps to follow;

You need to take the louvres off the headrail of your Blinds.
Turn the chain round until the hooks (carriages) are in the open position and are all facing the same way.
Re-hang the louvers ensuring you are able to see through them and out of your window.

The above instructions should resolve your issue. If this does not sort the issue then please email us at [email protected]

The louvres on my Vertical blinds are not in line with each other, what should I do?

The vertical blinds headrail has a self aligning carrier system so it maybe that one of these is out of alignment, this is easily rectified.

Steps to follow;

Remove the louvres from the carriages of the blinds.
Pull the tilt chain and draw cord at the same time until the slats are in the closed position. You may feel some resistance but do not worry, gently force the chain and the carriages will realign. Don’t worry if you hear a noise from the headrail as this is perfectly normal.

What’s the difference between Exact and Recess Measuements?

Recess – This is where a small clearance allowance of 1cm is deducted off the width in the manufacture of the blind, this allows the blinds to hang freely in the recess and does not catch the sides when raised, lowered or moved to the side in the case or Vertical Blinds. Recess size is generally specified when mounting the blinds inside the window recess.

Exact Size – The blinds are supplied exactly to the size that has been ordered, no allowances are made by the factory. Exact size is generally specified when mounting the blind outside the recess of a window.

What type of blinds would be best for my bathroom?

Bathrooms can be steamy and damp, this being so it is best to choose blinds that can cope with these conditions. Aluminium Venetian Blinds are ideal as natural Wood Venetian Blinds may warp. If you are after a natural look, try our Wood effect Aluminium Venetian Blinds or faux Wood Venetian Blinds (Essentials range), these combine the look of wood and offer the practicality of Aluminium blinds. If Aluminium Venetian blinds are not what you are after then we would suggest looking at our PVC vertical blinds as they will not absorb the moisture in the bathroom. These can be found by clicking on the vertical blinds picture or using the navigation on the left. This will display colour and function options. Simply click on the ‘Blackout blinds’ picture as all these blinds are PVC and will not absorb the moisture.

Can I order a sample before I buy?

Yes. Getting exactly the correct fabric, wood or colour for your blinds is extremely important. Samples are free of charge and you can order up to 5 samples in each order. If these do not suit then you can order some more and it is always free of charge. Samples are very easy to order. Simply browse the site and select the type of blind you are looking for e.g. Vertical Blinds. Due to the number of fabrics and colours we offer the next choice will be to select a colour group that covers the colour you are looking for. Once the colour group has been selected all the fabrics that are part of the colour group are displayed. To order samples simply click on the order sample area on the corner of the image. The web site will confirm the sample has been added to your order. To select another sample to add to the order click on a different fabric in the sample area of the image. When you have selected the samples you require or reached the single order maximum of 5 samples click on basket. This opens another window asking for your name and address details for where the samples are to be posted. Mandatory details are marked with ‘*’. When you have completed all the mandatory fields press the ‘Submit Order’ button and your order will be sent to our samples department. We aim to get samples sent to you in 3-4 working days. If your samples have not arrived in this time period (or this does not answer your question) please contact us at [email protected] with a copy of your request and we will arrange for another set of samples to be sent to you.

How do I use this website?

Our website has been developed to be extremely easy to use and offers plenty of help by clicking the information button links next to most of the drop downs around the website giving clear explanations about products etc. On the home page if you click on the section you require e.g. Roller blinds you will then be taken into the roller blinds section, from there you can then choose a colour range then view the fabric within that colour range. You may order a sample at this stage by clicking on the top left corner of the image. By clicking on a chosen fabric will take you into the next page which will enable you to type in your measurements to obtain a price.
